Essentially, the new tolerance is not tolerance at all, it is compromise. It is accepting the unacceptable in the name of tolerance.

Christians have generally been the most tolerant people around. That doesn't mean they endorse all things, only that they believe individuals have a right to make their own decisions so long as those decisions do not inflict harm on others.

That is the 'old tolerance,' which is no longer to be tolerated. The 'new tolerance' demands equality of recognition. I not only allow you to make your decisions, I also affirm your decisions to be equally as good as my decisions.

You should immediately see what this does to Fundamental Christianity which says there is but one way to heaven! By its very nature it is branded an intolerant religion.

The tolerance being advocated by the United Nations is the Devil's tolerance. It will tolerate sin. It will not tolerate the Christ of the Bible.

"The International Year for Tolerance, for the first time, put the accent on a personal virtue that is increasingly viewed as a political and legal requirement for peaceful co-existence. [The UN's] efforts culminated in the Declaration of Principles on Tolerance, which was adopted and signed in Paris by UNESCO's 185 Member States on 16 November 1995. The Declaration qualifies tolerance not only as a moral duty, but also as a political and legal requirement for individuals, groups and States." http://www.unesco.org/tolerance/global.htm

Have you been wondering about the "hate crime" legislation and what was behind it? Perhaps you now have a better idea where it is coming from.

Prior to the publishing the "Principles on Tolerance" the United Nations held a series of regional conferences on tolerance. The "final statements" a report from the conferences spells out what the UN thinks about "Tolerance". What does tolerance require?

"Tolerance requires cultivation and must not be the result of gracious concession. It must be the product of a successful socialisation and an unrestricted respect for Human Rights of the first, second and third generation as an ethical landmark of universal validity, whose implementation becomes the inalienable responsibility of the State."

How will the state apply this new found "inalienable" responsibility?

".....strong policies to prevent and combat all forms and manifestations of racism, xenophobia and related intolerance, where necessary by enactment of appropriate legislation, including penal measures, and by the establishment of national institutions to combat such phenomena....."

Where will tolerance be taught?

"....Education for human rights, tolerance, and democracy should encompass pre-primary, primary, secondary and vocational training, post-secondary colleges and universities as well as teacher training/education. Such education should extend beyond the school into adult education and the workplace."

The term 'indoctrination' fits far better than 'education' in the above paragraph and in those that follow.

"Programmes on tolerance should also be included in education and training of security, army, law enforcement personnel, etc.; public officials and decision-makers; members of the medical and legal professions and media personnel."

"Education for tolerance should also be included in the training of religious teachers."

"National programmes to promote tolerance should involve NGOs (nongovernmental organizations) and be based in the community. The Conference was informed of the initiative on education for tolerance recently undertaken in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Conference recommends that this initiative, which involved co-operation between human rights organisations, schools, and community groups, be considered a model for other regions of the world."

"The religions and beliefs of the world have a vital role in the promotion of tolerance and have a great responsibility to adhere to the ideals of tolerance and to practice tolerance within their own religious community and in their relations with other faiths. The Conference encourages inter-faith dialogues at all levels as an important means for promoting attitudes of tolerance within and between societies."

"The mass media and others involved in providing information services have an important role in democratic society with regard to objectively informing citizens about all aspects of life in their own country and in the world. The importance of tolerance should be recognized and reflected in codes of conduct of all media."

Will intolerance be tolerated?

"Only full acceptance of the pluralism of beliefs can then ensure the establishment of relations of brotherhood among believers in all countries."

Does the United Nations plan to oversee the implementation, and if so how?

"Use could be made of the UNITWIN/UNESCO (UNTIWIN -an international action plan for academic solidarity to strengthen inter-university co-operation) chairs programme and it might be possible to create a high-level study and research centre to train highly-qualified specialists in the field of human rights, cultural, ethnic and religious identity dialogue between religions (which requires specialists in the various religions to have knowledge of the other religions) and social sciences in the study of religions. The transfer of knowledge geared to the specific needs of the cultures concerned could help to build up a spirit of tolerance at the highest level of education (including 'theological' colleges and faculties)."

Are these programs necessary for world peace?

"It is essential for international harmony that individuals, communities and nations accept and respect the multicultural character of the human family. All actions should be taken to promote it. The world can survive only through the simultaneous validity and creative interplay of all cultures."

Should we feel a "oneness" with all things?

"Tolerance would be well assisted by religions and philosophies that emphasize oneness of all things, the respect for life, reverence for all beings, belief in truth, the importance of practicing duties simultaneously with rights, and practicing non-violence in conflict resolution and in all aspects of daily living."

United Religion Initiative

URI

"URI's official birth takes place in Pittsburgh, PA on June 26th, (2000) the first day of its annual Global Summit. Participants in the Charter signing will include religious leaders representing the world's faith traditions as well as representatives from URI Cooperation Circles around the globe. Some of the faiths represented include: Hindu, Zoroastrian, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Taoist, Wiccan, Baha'i, Sikh, and Indigenous Peoples. Those involved come from countries such as Argentina, Sri Lanka, England, Israel, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Canada, India, Belgium, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Mozambique and others. URI will be patterned after the United Nations.

"The problems, among religions, and in religions, are everyday problems, and they are not going to be solved, or addressed or helped, until we finally have some kind of 'United Religions', that will parallel the United Nations, so that we can carry out negotiations."

"....For their part the churches cannot for a second doubt that they need the protection of the State, and that only through the State can they be enabled to fulfill their religious mission. Indeed, the Churches demand this protection from the State. On the other hand in consideration for this protection, the State must require from the churches that they in their turn should render to it that support which it needs to secure its permanence. Churches which fail to render to the State any positive support in this sense are for the State just as worthless as is for a Church the State which is incapable of fulfilling its duties to the Church. The decisive factor which can justify the existence alike of Church and State is the maintenance of men's spiritual and bodily health, for if the health were destroyed it would mean the end of the State and also the end of the Church. Therefore the State cannot afford to be indifferent to religious affairs of its day...." Adolph Hitler July 22, 1933, page 186 of "My New Order"

We have also offered some quotes from the United Religions Initiative, a UN inspired organization that states in its preamble:

"We, people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and indigenous traditions throughout the world, hereby establish the United Religions Initiative to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings."

One could hardly get more arrogant! This group intends to accomplish what the God of heaven says will only be accomplished when His Son returns and sets up His kingdom to rule from Jerusalem.

We also see in that statement strong evidence of the pagan worship of the earth and its creatures, not of the one true God. We are reminded of God's admonition to the Hebrews that they are to make no alliances with the peoples who were inhabiting the land of Canaan:

"And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you." (Judges 2:1-3)

Paul tells us that all Scripture is given for our instruction. This passage from Judges should instruct Christians that there can be no compromise with other religions. While we desire to live in harmony with all men we must realize that their gods will always be a snare to us and that the doctrine of multiculturalism is a doctrine of the Devil, designed to thwart God's plan for His people and His creation.

If we go back to the book of Joshua we find the passage wherein league was made between the Israelites and the people of Canaan:

"And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye? And they said unto him, From a very far country thy servants are come because of the name of the LORD thy God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt, ... And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey. And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD. And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them. And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them." (Joshua 9:8-10; 13-16)

We see that deception was the key then and deception is still the key. Convince the people of God that tolerance is a great virtue and they will fall into your hands.
