VOLUME 5, NUMBER 10 - SEPTEMBER 15, 2000

World Peace and the United Nations

"On August 28 of this year, over 1000 leading religious figures from over 15 major faith traditions will gather at the United Nations to open the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders. For more than two hours the General Assembly Hall will be filled with prayers, meditations and sacred ceremonies for peace. During the following days, the religious leaders will deliberate over how their combined efforts can be a stronger force for peace in the world. This is an historic occasion: never before have so many religious leaders of this level come together, and they have never convened at the United Nations. We hope the Summit will send a powerful signal to people of faith around the world that there is no acceptable alternative to the peaceful resolution of differences.

"Today, religious differences continue to be a cause of conflict in many parts of the world, despite the fact that religious leaders around the world are calling upon their followers to adopt a new vision of tolerance and cooperation.

"If peace is to be attained in this new millennium, the human community must acknowledge its spiritual potential and recognize that it is within our power to eradicate the worst form of human brutality - war - as well as one of the root causes of war - poverty. The time is ripe for the world's spiritual leadership to work more closely with the United Nations in its effort to address the pressing needs of humankind.

"The World Peace Summit will be an historic occasion, for it will be the first time that an assembly of such prestigious religious leaders from all over the world will gather at the United Nations, marking a new era of collaboration between the different religious communities and between the world's political and spiritual leadership. Religious leaders will address the world's population on how people with diverse belief systems can live together in peace."

Such is the rhetoric fostered by Bawa Jain, Secretary General, of the Millennium World Peace Summit Of Religious and Spiritual Leaders. This UN conference was held in preparation for the Millennium Assembly, one of several conferences designed to give an air of legitimacy to the call for global government. Secretary General Bawa Jain explains why the UN is forming this partnership.

"The question has been posed: Why hold the Summit at the United Nations, a political body that has no involvement in matters of religion? The answer is simple. Many of the conflicts in the world today are among different religious and ethnic groups. Often these conflicts are waged "in the name of religion." By holding the Summit, we are searching for ways to foster peace "in the name of religion.

"The Summit's outcome - a signed Declaration for World Peace and the establishment of an ongoing International Advisory Council of Religious and Spiritual Leaders - will serve as a resource for the United Nations in its conflict prevention and resolution efforts."

We do not know the motives of the individuals who are listed as attendees. But we do know that Ephesians 5:11 states: "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them." We trust that those in attendance will publish an exposé of the actions taken by the United Nations.

According to the United Nations roster, the following individuals were representing the North American Mission Board Southern Baptist Convention: Baldwin, Janette; Roberts, R. Philip; Welborn, Ken. Attending for the Rev. Billy Graham in a capacity separate from the Baptists was Anne Graham Lotz, the Rev. Graham's daughter. A complete list of the attendees may be found at:

As world government takes shape, quite literally before our eyes, it is astonishing to see the people who have, for whatever reason, cast their lot with the new order. This order is not new, it is simply a new facade on the tower originally called Babel.

The UN Charter empowers the organization to attempt to accomplish many tasks that have eluded man throughout his history. In this case war is the obstacle to be overcome. A partnership between government and religion will, in the end, result in the people relinquishing their freedom. When we consider that man still has Adam's sinful nature, it is certain that this partnership will lead down the same disastrous path.

At this point the objective of the global religious movement is not to seek total capitulation to a new religion, but to deflect the fundamental truth that there is only one way to God the Father and that is through Jesus Christ. When Christianity is reduced to an equal status with other religions, fundamental aspects of those religions can be incorporated. The process is incremental: think of a large circle, filled with people; the circle is moving but only those on the perimeter can see the direction of travel; as the new idealism approaches they willingly accept the new theology or they are removed (there is no middle ground); those individuals in the center are blind to the circle's movement; by following those on the perimeter of the circle (who have embraced the new religion) they are led in the same direction without understanding the change.

SUSTAINABLE MINNESOTA

The following articles are from the Sustainable Communities Network - a newsletter published by the State of Minnesota, Office of Environmental Assistance.

Specie Equity is the new aspect that one group is embracing.

It stands to reason, in the eyes of those who cannot see, that man has evolved to a status of dominance over other species. This obvious inequity must be corrected to the satisfaction of those espousing this dogma.

The letter can be viewed by first calling up http://www.nacce.org/2000/TOC.html, then click on 1999, then click on "Church Group Wants 'Bill of Biotic Rights' for Forestry".

"The Saron United Church of Christ Eco-Justice Task Force in Sheboygan Falls, Wis, has taken fundamental principle of sustainability, which is the need to balance the interests of humans and the non-human native biodversity of ecosystems so as to preserve ecosystem functions, quite seriously. In a March 1999 letter to the Wisconsin bureau of Forestry, the church proposed Seven Rights of Non-human Species (in wild ecosystems), and argued that they and their ecosystems should have formal legal standing, as do endangered species, granted by administrative or legislative means, with humans as the enforcers of their rights."

The proposed rights include:

"A Bill of Biotic Rights of Non-human Species

"1. The right to participate in the natural dynamics for existence.

"2. The right to healthy and whole habitats.

"3. The right to reproduce their own kind without humanly induced chemical, radioactive, hybridized, or bio-engineered aberrations.

"4. The right to fulfill their evolutionary potential with freedom from human-induced extinctions.

"5. The right to freedom from human cruelty, flagrant abuse or profligate use.

"6. The right to reparations or restitution through managerial interventions to restore a semblance of natural conditions disrupted by human abuse.

"7. The right to a 'fair share' of the goods necessary for individuals and species."

The United Church of Christ is an NGO (nongovernmental organization). Organizations such as this, claim to be the voice of society. By lobbying governments at all levels and utilizing the media they are affectedly moving the agenda forward.

Minnesota has enacted laws and polices, that will bring their state into compliance with the United Nations Agenda 21 program. Alabama's governor has begun a similar process within state government. Read carefully the following from Minnesota State law 116D.02, and realize the same ideology will be forthcoming from our state legislature.

"116D.01 Purpose.

"....(a) to declare a state policy that will encourage productive and enjoyable harmony between human beings and their environment;

"(b) to promote efforts that will prevent or eliminate damage to the environment and biosphere and stimulate the health and welfare of human beings; and

"(c) to enrich the understanding of the ecological systems and natural resources important to the state and to the nation...."

Any state law or policy that produces "harmony between human beings and their environment", will strip the citizen of his freedom. The premise requires that state law makers and bureaucrats (nonelected officials) will determine what constitutes harmony. Properly constituted government is limited in its jurisdiction and power by a written document or constitution, thereby affording its citizens the greatest freedom. A general term that is usually applied to this new form of government is "proactive". A proactive government will ensure that economic, environmental, and social aspects are in compliance with Agenda 21. In other words, every aspect of our lives - big and small - will come under government scrutiny.

"Subdivision 1. the legislature, recognizing the profound impact of human activity on the interactions of all components of the natural environment, particularly the profound influences of population growth, high density urbanization, industrial expansion, resources exploitation, and new and expanding technological advances and recognizing further the critical importance of restoring and maintaining environmental quality to the overall welfare and development of human beings, declares that it is the continuing policy of the state government, in cooperation with federal and local governments, and other concerned public and private organizations, to use all practicable means and measures, including financial and technical assistance, in a manner calculated to foster and promote the general welfare, to create and maintain conditions under which human beings and nature can exist in productive harmony, and fulfill the social, economic, and other requirements of present and future generations of the state's people"

Did you catch that? Local, state, and federal, governments in partnership with other concerned public and private organizations will "create and maintain conditions" so that "present and future generations of the state's people" "can exist in productive harmony" with "nature".

"Subdivisions 2. In order to carry out the policy set forth in (Chapter 116D), it is the continuing responsibility of the sate government to use all practicable means, consistent with other essential considerations of state policy, to improve state plans, functions, programs and resources to the end that the state may:

"(1) Fulfill the responsibilities of each generation as trustee of the environment for succeeding generations."

We cannot apologize for the actions of passed generations nor see to the needs of future generations. It is apparent that our leaders think the minding of our own business is beyond our abilities.

"(2) Assure for all people of the state safe, healthful, productive and aesthetically and culturally pleasing surrounding."

The government wants you to "feel good" as it strips your freedom from you.

"(3) Discourage ecologically unsound aspects of population, economic and technological growth, and develop and implement a policy that such growth occurs only in and environmentally acceptable manner."

Government determines in what manner growth will occur, if at all.

"(4) Preserve important historic, cultural and natural aspects of our national heritage, and maintain, wherever practicable, an environment that supports diversity, and variety of individual choice."

Part of the United Nations Heritage Treaty.

"(5) Encourage, through education, a better understanding of natural resources management principles that will develop attitudes and styles of living that minimize environmental degradation."

An international educational system beginning at birth. This system is a direct result of our participation in the 1990 United Nations conference held in Thailand.

"(6) Develop and implement land use and environmental policies, plans, and standards for the state as a whole and for major regions thereof through a coordinated program of planning and land use control."

Does this remind you of Region 2020's attempts to organize us into a "region?" Control of land useage will ultimately control the people.

"(7) define, designate, and protect environmentally sensitive areas;"

Who will "define" and "designate"? In what manner will protection be rendered? Areas so designated are usually called "core areas", also included are "buffer zones" and "zones of cooperation". These three designations are applied to an area commonly called a "biosphere", and are described in the UN document drafted to guide the implementation of The Convention on Biological Diversity.

"(8) establish and maintain statewide environmental information systems sufficient to gauge environmental conditions;"

This data base will contain "sustainable indicators." These indicators will be used to determine if you and I are moving toward the United Nations' goals.

"(9) practice thrift in the use of energy and maximize the use of energy efficient systems for the utilization of energy, and minimize the environmental impact from energy production and use;"

This tenet can be found in several programs. The Natural Step, CERES (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies) Principles, and the Hannover Principles are just a few examples. These programs establish benchmarks, for businesses and individuals. Once these benchmarks are attained, new ones must be set - a never ending task.

"(10) preserve important existing natural habitats of rare and endangered species of plants, wildlife, and fish, and provide for the wise use of our remaining areas of natural habitation, including necessary protective measures where appropriate;"

In Africa, a man was shot to death while walking unarmed in a game reserve. The uniformed government agent ambushed the man while he was walking along a path. It was said that he may have been poaching. Training for the government agents was provided by American citizens and foundations. What "necessary protective measures" will be required in Minnesota?

"(11) reduce wasteful practices which generate solid wastes;

"(12) minimize wasteful and unnecessary depletion of nonrenewable resources;"

Resources, whether renewable or not, belong to the individual, not to the government. The individual determines if his resources are being wasted.

"(13) conserve natural resources and minimize environmental impact by encouraging extension of product lifetime, by reducing the number of unnecessary and wasteful materials practices, and by recycling materials to conserve both materials and energy;"

Allowing the government (public-private partnership) to determine this factor may cost the public more than money

"(14) improve management of renewable resources in a manner compatible with environmental protection;

"(15) provide for reclamation of mined lands and assure that any mining is accomplished in a manner compatible with environmental protection;

"(16) reduce the deleterious impact on air and water quality from all sources, including the deleterious environmental impact due to operation of vehicles with internal combustion engines in urbanized areas;"

When the population centers reach the government approved densities (3 ½ families per acre), automobiles will not be practicable nor permitted.

"(17) minimize noise, particularly in urban areas;

"(18) prohibit, where appropriate, flood plain development in urban and rural areas; and

"(19) encourage advanced waste treatment in abating water pollution."

The United Nations has formed the World Water Council. The goal, which is in their grasp, is to control all resources. The Birmingham Water Works will not be overlooked.

The rest of the Minnesota law provides a framework for implementation.
