THE UN IN YOUR BACKYARD
Don't look now, but the United Nations has its sights on your back yard. No longer content to regulate our
population, automobiles, air, water and parks, the global Gestapo now wants to regulate that little plot of
earth covered by the grass you mow and the trees that shade your lawn chairs.
Grass, trees and other forms of vegetation absorb the carbon dioxide, which is the primary target for
emissions reductions required by the Kyoto Protocol, the new global warming treaty which was ratified 18
months ago in Japan.
Delegates from 150 nations gathered in Bonn, Germany on May 31, to put their global heads together for
two weeks to, among other things, figure out how to maximize carbon storage in vegetation. One of the
prime objectives of these U.N. delegates is to minimize land use changes.
What if you want to remove some of that grass or your garden area to put in a swimming pool, garage or
a parking area? Don't even think about it. If the members of the green extreme get their way you won't
be living there long, anyway. They want to herd what's left of the human race after population control into
high-rise apartments in order to achieve what is known as "sustainable development." Don't buy that
second car and put away those pool toys! Haven't you heard of urban sprawl? It's one of Al Gore's latest
issues.
By the way, your grass and trees in U.N. vernacular are "carbon sinks" and, as such, are covered in
Article 2, Section ii of the Kyoto Protocol. The 38 developed nations are required to monitor, measure,
and report land use changes, and the effect such changes may have on total carbon dioxide emissions.
The 137 underdeveloped nations, such as China, Mexico and Korea, aren't required to do much of
anything, which is why the United States Senate put the Clinton Administration on notice that this treaty
would not be ratified.
Prior to this meeting, all nations were asked to submit a written "communication" on how to comply with
this provision. Interestingly, our country was one of the few that dutifully responded, and our response
was quite telling: "The United States believes that the Kyoto Protocol represents an important
achievement and framework for action to control greenhouse gas emissions."
The administration has no plans to appeal to the Senate to ratify this treaty, but is moving toward policies
required by the Protocol, just the same. The recent tightening of the clean air standards and the new
ecosystem management policy restricting land use are good examples of how this treaty already is
affecting our lives. At this point, your backyard is safe. However, if your elected representatives continue
to appropriate the funds for these global gatherings and turn a blind eye toward the mischief making that
is being done under the guise of combating global warming, you may own your grass and trees, but the
United Nations will control them.

GOALS 2000 & REGION 2020
May, 24, 1999, Region 2020 began the implementation phase for the twelve county area around Birmingham.
The Mustard Seed will compare some of the 32 strategies with United Nations documents in coming weeks. We
pray that by reading this you will began to ask some very important questions.
Much has been said about Goals 2000. The following is worth repeating.
A side-by-side comparison of Goals 2000 with the report from the UN World Conference on Education for All
provides an uncanny similarity. The reader will be left with no doubt that the American educational program is
being replaced with an international one that is socialistic in philosophy.
It is hard for the average American to realize what is really taking place because the restructuring program is being
presented as one of parental involvement, Choice in Education, local control, site based management and higher
academic standards. What Americans think they are getting and what they will receive will be exact opposites.
Unfortunately, the average American spends so little time in serious study of governmental issues that he is no
longer able to discern truth from error.
While Americans are basking in the demise of the Communist state, that very same philosophy (that has enslaved
so many) is becoming an integral part of their children's educational system.
The masters of deceit are about to pull off the greatest deception of the ages. The One World Socialist state is
rapidly coming together and the American people are so lacking in a basic understanding of their government that
they are swallowing the deception hook, line, and sinker.
It seems that the fear Abraham Lincoln expressed, "America will die by suicide," is coming to pass.
In 1990 an important conference, titled the World Conference on Education for All (WCEFA), was convened in
Jomtien, Thailand by the World Bank, and varying agencies of the United Nations. The conference brought
together some 1500 people representing 155 governments, 33 intergovernmental bodies, and 125 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), institutes, and foundations. The Conference concluded with the unanimous
adoption of the "World Declaration on Education for All" and endorsed a "Framework for Action to Meet Basic
Learning Needs." Research Manual: "America 2000/Goals 2000 - Moving the Nation Educationally to a 'New
World Order'"

1. If the basic learning needs of all are to be met through a much broader scope of action than in the past, it will be
essential to mobilize existing and new financial and human resources, public, private and voluntary.
Each activity that Region 2020 proposes lists organizations that will aid in their implementation.
On page 42 Association of Childhood Educators International (ACEI) is listed. This organization says about itself:
"1.ACEI has a representative at the United Nations in both New York and Geneva. ACEI has been a member of
the United Nation's non governmental organizations for 10 years. Granted consultative status, we share concerns
and expertise on leading children's issues."

The National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is also listed. This organization says: "Our
goal is to achieve specialized early childhood certification in every state,...." "This certification should be
developed exclusively for early childhood education and be distinctive from, and independent of, existing
elementary and secondary certifications." This process would include standards for "I. Growth, development, and
learning"....understanding of the various domains of development of infants, toddlers, and pre-primary and
primary-age children, and the processes by which these domains are integrated..... It further includes the ability to
appropriately assess the development of children from birth through age eight who come from a range of
sociocultural backgrounds and who may be at risk for developmental delay. Specifically, it addresses the teacher's
understanding and ability regarding the following:
1. physical development of young children, including variable growth and behavioral patterns during prenatal,
perinatal, infant, toddler, preprimary, and early primary years.
2. ..... thru J ....
The above is quoted from the NAEYC Position Statement of July/August, 1991, about Early Childhood Teacher
Certification.
The United Nations states in the "The World Declaration on Education For All"
"Learning begins at birth. This calls for early childhood care and initial education. These can be provided through
arrangements involving families, communities, or institutional programmes, as appropriate.

The recognition of the vital role of both families and teachers is particularly important. In this context, the terms
and conditions of service of teachers and their status, which constitute a determining factor in the implementation
of education for all, must be urgently improved in all countries in line with the joint ILO/UNESCO (International
Labor Organization/United Nations Economic and Social Development) Recommendation Concerning the Status
of Teachers (1966).
The United Nations and Region 2020 propose to create and administer an educational program that begins at birth
and last a lifetime i.e. lifelong learning. What a coincidence! Region 2020 estimates the cost at $400,000.00.
Region 2020 does not say if the cost is reoccurring. If one Early Childcare Professional is assigned a case load of
twenty pregnant women, the cost would far exceed the estimated $400,000.00 not to mention the loss of freedom of
the parents.
"I am much afraid that schools will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the
Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the scriptures do
not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not increasingly occupied with the Word of God must
become corrupt." Martin Luther
KOSOVO You may believe that if you want. Our position is that the aggression against the sovereign state of
Yugoslavia had nothing to do with human rights but everything to do with setting a precedent that NATO
(the UN or the NWO) has a legitimate right to intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation when
that nation's policies are not according to NATO's ideas of what they should be.
NATO was established to provide united protective action by its members against an aggressor of any
member state. The recent action was prohibited by the original treaty, but now the purpose of NATO has
been rewritten. The new definition of security for the NATO alliance states:
The above would seem to grant NATO all the authority it needs to intervene in most any situation when
one considers the primary purpose of the Alliance is: "...to safeguard the freedom and security of all its
members by political and military means."
Henry Lamb in a recent article for World Net Daily said:

The security of the Alliance remains subject to a wide variety of military and non-military risks...These
risks include uncertainty and instability in and around the Euro-Atlantic area and the possibility of
regional crises at the periphery of the Alliance which could evolve rapidly. Some countries in and
around the Euro-Atlantic area face serious economic, social and political difficulties. Ethnic and
religious rivalries, territorial disputes, inadequate or failed efforts at reform, the abuse of human
rights, and the dissolution of states can lead to local and even regional instability. The resulting
tensions could lead to crises affecting Euro-Atlantic stability, to human suffering, and to armed
conflicts. Such conflicts could affect the security of the Alliance by spilling over into neighboring
countries, including NATO countries, or in other ways, and could also affect the security of other
states.
We are seeing the "international community" assume unto itself the authority to accept the
responsibility of providing "security for the people," even when it requires aggression upon a
sovereign nation. The Commission on Global Governance recommended this kind of international
action within the sovereign borders of nations to provide security for the people. The Commission
report says, "The security of people has been violated on a horrendous scale without external
aggression or external threat to territorial integrity or to state sovereignty. To confine the concept of
security exclusively to the protection of states is to ignore the interests of people. ..."
