A NEW RELIGION FOR THE NEW WORLD ORDER

Many Christian Churches in this country are strong supporters of the United Nations. They need to take another look at this organization and its stated (and unstated) goals.

Religion is not something the UN speaks too openly about, and it has not sought publicity about the discussions it has held on the subject. But looking into some of the people involved and statements they have made regarding how religion is going to have to change in order to achieve other goals, it becomes all too obvious that traditional Christianity (and other monotheistic religions) can have no place in the "ordered" world of the future they envision.

In the Gaia Atlas of Future Worlds Dr. Norman Myers, who has been an advisor to the UN, the World Bank, the State Department and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, sets forth the basic tenets of the Gaian religion: "...there is no longer any 'we' and 'they.' For the first time and all time there is only 'us' -- all of us humans, together with all our fellow species and other members of the Gaian community."

Myerís speaks of "a new humanism, a new world view, a new planetary concern" as necessary for a new governing ethic within this new Gaian community.

Globalist theologian Hans Kung was commissioned by UNESCO in 1991 to create a "Declaration of a Global Ethic" which would impose a set of binding commitments upon religious leaders and institutions. In his 1991 book Global Responsibility: In Search of a New World Ethic, he said, "Any form of . . . church conservatism is to be rejected.... To put it bluntly: no regressive or repressive religion -- whether Christian, Islamic, Jewish or of whatever provenance -- has a long-term future." He goes on to say, "If ethics is to function for the well-being of all, it must be indivisible. The undivided world increasingly needs an undivided ethic. Postmodern men and women need common values, goals, ideals, visions."

Reading this do you get the idea that individuality is going to become a thing of the past, that all of humanity must somehow be molded into an homogeneous whole? And that mold will have to fit the parameters outlined for us by the 'super intellects' who will be governing from the halls of the United Nations.

Christians who value the teachings of Christ and the tenets of the Christian faith have an obligation to oppose any such movement. Others who value the freedom to worship as they choose or who just value the freedom to pursue a different dream must join in opposing these efforts to enforce a socialistic conformity upon the whole of mankind.

Gerald Barney, who was the lead author of the Global 2000 report for the Carter Administration, has been quoted as saying the only alternative to the destruction of religion is the "reinterpretation and even rejection of ancient traditions and assumptions" and the creation of a "'sustainable' faith tradition on earth ... a faith such that if everyone adopted and followed it, we would be assured a sustainable, just, and humane future for earth and her people.

"Over the next [several] years all five billion of us humans must prepare to die to 20th century ways of thinking and being.... Every person must learn to think like earth, to act like earth, to be earth.... As soon as we humans learn to think like earth, we together will see a new future for earth. Then we can die in peace, all five billion of us, to our old ways of thinking. We can cross the waters together. And we can celebrate earth's safe arrival in a new era in a way that will be remembered together."

We don't know about you, but that kind of talk from people in policy making positions scares the heck out of us! We hope it will at least make you stop and think a little about the kind of thinking we have in very high places.

You know, she is a beautiful homesite, and we should care for her and treat her with the kind of respect she deserves. She is the creation of the God of the universe just as we are His creations. She deserves care and respect but not worship, and earth worship is what the Gaia movement is all about.

Read the first chapter of the book of Romans if you want to know what happens when people start worshiping the creation instead of the Creator. Then look around you and ask yourselves, "Is it possible that much of what we see happening around us, the disintegration of our social structure, the lack of a moral compass among our people, the lack of respect for life is the result of just such misplaced worship?"

SOME SUPPORTING ORGANIZATIONS

R.O.B.I.N./USA Religion or Belief Information Network.

According to its own literature (as found on the Internet at: http://www.hamline.edu/~robin/.) ROBIN is an organization involved in:

THE TANDEM PROJECT

The parent organization of ROBIN was founded in 1985, to "promote, implement and monitor the 1981 United Nations Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief."

It has organized four international conferences on ways to implement the 1981 U.N. Declaration.

It has been involved with the University of Essex Human Rights Center in the production and publication of Freedom of Religion and Belief - A World Report.

The academic partner for its offspring, ROBIN, is Hamline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota. (An affiliate of The United Methodist Church)

ONE of the research projects conducted by ROBIN was the completion of questionnaires relating to freedom of religion or belief in primary and secondary schools in America.

ROBIN states, "The right to freedom of religion or belief was first articulated at the United Nations Conference on International Organization , held in San Francisco in 1945. It was enshrined in Article 1 of the U.N. Charter . . . 'fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion' and subsequently [1948] in Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights."

Let's compare our First Amendment to Article 18 of the CP Covenant.

Our First Amendment says: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof... it does not elaborate later.

Article 18 of the CP Covenant states: Everyone shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. But then it goes on to say, Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs may be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary.

That's quite a big difference any way you look at it!

Subsequent conferences have tended to emphasize the need for all religions to recognize and tolerate other religions, often commenting that divisiveness cannot be permitted. The term 'harmonizing' is frequently used. In effect, Christianity is expected to harmonize its views so that it can be compatible with . . . Witchcraft, Wicca, Brahma Kumari and any other 'religion' anyone might come up with -- presumably even Satanism.

The Millennium Council of Faiths is being asked to design suitable "rites of passage" through which people will "die" to old 20th century ways of thinking and being, and emerge as new 21st century people.

We hope you will think on and pray about these issues.
